Donald Kaplan is a Director with Houlihan Smith & Company, and advises the firms middle market clients on Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions transactions.

Prior to joining Houlihan Smith Mr. Kaplan was a co-founder and Director of Magplane Technology Inc., a firm that designs, builds and operates high speed land transportation using super conductive magnets.

From 1952 to 1991 Mr. Kaplan served as Chairman and CEO of Kaplan Industries, at the time a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ. He was also co-founder and served on the board of Citrus & Chemical Bank in Barton Florida. As a global business strategist with an understanding of world affairs Mr. Kaplan has consulted on various projects across North America and South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. Mr. Kaplan is a graduate of the University of Miami.
